This post has a list of a few different genres including thriller, action, romance and horror. It then lists a few of the different generic conventions that may be seen in film openings that are of the same genre and then has examples of film of these genres that have similar/ the same generic conventions. I have done this post so that when I choose the genre of my film opening that I will create, I can look at the different generic conventions that I could put in my film opening that are relevant to the genre.
Film Openings
Thriller - A chase, low key lighting, not sure what will happen in the rest of the film
Action - knives, guns, spies, explosions
romance - Romantic setting, A date, pink titles
Horror - scary music, red and black colours, set in isolated area
